November 7, 2010 was Texas Spirits Mom's Day! The event was held for Spirits to recognize and thank their moms for everything they do for them. It was also a time where moms could see firsthand what all their daughters were doing in Spirits. Moms were able to meet a lot of actives (and Weenies!) in the organization and other Spirits moms as well. The day simply let them get a better overall feel for the type of organization their daughters are a part of.
Mom's Day consisted of a lunch held at The Oasis on Lake Travis followed by a mom-daughter drag paint. The weather could not have been more perfect, making for a beautiful setting for the day's activities. After eating lunch, a slideshow of Spirits and their moms was shown followed by a game of "Guess Who's Mom?" where everyone had to guess who's mom was featured in a picture of them from the past. The slideshow and guessing game let everyone see just where all our lovely Spirits get their gorgeous looks from!
The Oasis section of Mom's Day concluded with a couple of "Look Alike" awards that went to Taylor Francis and her mom (shown below), as well as Kelly Bahng and her mom (and sister).
The drag paint following lunch was a huge success and a number of moms attended the event and helped us in one of our oldest traditions, painting the drag!
Great job Amanda Chavira and Brooke Rogers in planning this event - it was such a great time!
