The highly anticipated cool weather brought along some very exciting news for five Texas Spirits. Abz Zeitler, Anjali Sethi, Olivia Area, Quynh Pham, and Willa Altman-Kaough have been selected to ride from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska, during summer 2015 with Texas 4000, in efforts to raise money to help wage the war against cancer.
Texas 4000, founded in 2003, is the longest annual charity bike ride in the world. The journey from Austin to Anchorage is more than 4000 miles long and takes perseverance, determination, dedication, and support. It will take 70 days to complete and each team member will set a goal of raising a sum of money to benefit cancer research. Over the past nine years, Texas 4000 has raised more than $3.5 million for the fight against cancer.
Each girl was asked to share a little bit of her excitement and motivation.
